Rohit Sharma stars in Netflix's Stranger Things promo ahead of Volume 2 finale release
Rohit Sharma has surprised cricket fans and Netflix viewers alike by starring in a promotional video for the finale of the hit web series Stranger Things, delivering his famous “garden mein ghoom raha hai kya?” line in a completely new context. The unexpected collaboration sees the Indian cricket star urging his team to prepare for Vecna, the main antagonist of Stranger Things, ahead of Volume 2’s release on December 26 at 6:30 AM IST. The full finale will drop on January 1, 2026. Meanwhile, Rohit has also been named in Mumbai’s squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, though he will play only two matches in the domestic tournament.
Rohit’s Stranger Things cameo goes viral
In the Netflix promo video, Rohit can be seen addressing his teammates using his iconic catchphrase that became famous during the 2024 T20 World Cup. The line “garden mein ghoom raha hai kya?” was originally used by Rohit to ask his fielders if they were wandering around aimlessly instead of staying focused. Now, the phrase has been cleverly adapted to fit the Stranger Things universe, with Rohit warning his team to stay alert for the supernatural villain Vecna.
The collaboration between one of India’s biggest cricket stars and one of Netflix’s most popular shows has created massive buzz on social media. Fans have praised both Netflix and Rohit for the creative cross-promotion, calling it one of the most unexpected and entertaining partnerships of 2024.
